GENERAL.1. First and foremost we'll start off with the golden rule; treat others the way you want to be treated. Respect others, and respect yourself, ok? Treat others with respect and you'll be treated the same. If that turns out to not to be the case then contact an admin and we'll handle it. We're here to resolve problems and keep everything peaceful and fun.
2. Abuse, bigotry, or bullying of any kind will not be permitted here. We do not want any kind of OOC drama. We don't want any of it and if there's a problem then contact an admin before you decide to take matters into your own hands.
3. One account per member, please. To ensure we have an accurate member count for our site, we ask that each member keep his or her characters on a single account. To avoid confusion as to whom plays which character, there is a Who's Who thread, and to avoid confusion about which character you're RPing, please state the character's name somewhere in your posts.
4. Chatspeak is absolutely forbidden anywhere except the C-box, and even there it is discouraged. Things like 'lol' and 'brb' are acceptable, but anything else will not be tolerated. If you are SO lazy that you can't spell out 'are', rather than 'r', you have no place here. SIGNATURES.5. Please, with icons keep them 100x100 and nothing bigger. If you want a smaller icon then that then it's fine that's your choice, same with moving icons. If that's what you wish to do then do it, but keep the icons clean and within the size of 100x100. Do that and we won't have a problem.
6. Keep all graphics clean. This mean no nudity and the likes of such. You should all know by now what's considered appropriate and what's not. We don't mind curse words or some funny little comment. But anything that's considered explicit and inappropriate will be removed and you will be warned. It may seem harsh but we the admins feel this is a rule that everyone whose ever rped before should already know.
7. When it comes to signatures we ask that you please make sure they do not stretch the forum at all, not even a little bit. That kinda thing is annoying and it will be removed. We also ask that you don't make them too tall, either. Thing's like that are just annoying to scroll down. If you don't know what sizes will stretch the board then just don't go past 500x500. Anything under 500x500 will be approved.
8. We have a graphics center for a reason. If you do not know how to make graphics then go there and request something. Somebody will get to it sooner or later. If you don't want to wait then download GIMP, it's free and once you learn how to use it, it's fairly easy. You don't have to get it but it's a suggestion for those who want to do graphics but can't afford photoshop. We here at Street Wise like pretty graphics as much as the next person, but know that pretty graphics aren't everything. REGISTRATION.9. When joining, make sure you'll be active and that you're just not going to claim a pack and then not come on. That kind of thing will not be tolerated, so make sure you're active. If a pack leader does go inactive you will be stripped of your title and auditions will be held for your pack.
10. The secret word for the application is Diggy McJunior. Put that in the application section in order to prove you've read the rules. CHARACTERS.13. Domesticated dogs only. Powers and unnatural colorations are not allowed. This is a semi-realistic dog RPG, please keep your characters realistic. No wild breeds or hybrids. Pretty much every dog here is allowed.
14. There is an application form in the pending application board, please use it, and do not edit it. You do not need to wait for a staff member to approve it before you begin RPing, but if we, the staff, feel there is a problem with your app, we will contact you.
15. God Modding is forbidden. For anyone unfamiliar with the term, god modding is pretty much "playing God". It is the act of controlling another member's character without permission, as well as the act of creating a character with "God-like" abilities. Examples of that are:
DOG1: Snarling, dog1 clamped his jaw shut around dog2's muzzle.
versus
DOG1: Snarling, dog1 attempted to clamp his jaw shut around dog2's muzzle.
The word 'attempted' provides dog2's player with the chance to react the way they want to react, instead of being forced into reacting to a bite.
DOG1: dog1 is such an amazing fighter that although he's been in hundreds of fights, none of his opponents have ever gotten a shot at him; he has never been injured and has never lost.
versus
DOG1: dog1 is an amazing fighter; he's been in hundreds of fights in his life and has rarely lost. He knows how to dodge attacks while laying on his own, and has never been seriously injured.
No dog, no matter how amazing he is, can be in that many fights and never be injured even slightly, or never lose even once. When they're young and in their first few fights, it's more than likely that some of their opponents will be more seasoned than them, and likely they'll lose a few. As for injuries, well, when you fight, you get injured, even if it's only minor injuries.
ROLE-PLAYING.16. The word minimum is 200, very little, because we don't believe in large word minimums; if you have trouble consistently posting 200 words, this is not the rpg for you. Third person only, please. All manner of dressing up is allowed, including small text, text colors, and tables.
17. Look at rule ten and now look here; cause rule 10 is not real. I only said that so that I can tell apart the people who are using the ctrl-f trick to find that word and the people who are actually taking the time out to read the rules. Do not put Diggy McJunior down cause then I'll know you haven't read all of this. When you get to that part of the application put whatever you want. It can be funny or it can be sad, hell you can even leave it blank. Just don't Diggy McJunior because that's just to catch people who aren't doing the right thing.
18. Claiming territory is on a first-come, first-serve basis; we'll hold auditions for empty territories to be claimed. The audition is simple all you have to do is; post the pack name, description, and the name of the alpha. However, ALL leaders can be challenged for their positions, including the leaders of the major packs. After a fight there is a three day grace period during which no challenges can be made, but afterwards it's fair game once again.
19. Fights will be judged by staff members, and they will be judged based on certain elements. Please see our fight rules for more information.
MATURE CONTENT.20. Graphic sexual content is strictly forbidden, as there is no reason for sexual content. If we find any threads that go beyond the "fade out", the culprits will be banned for two weeks. Do it twice and you're gone for good. Explicit content can get this site shut down, and that's not fair to the people who worked so hard to build it, or the members who follow the rules. On that note, breeding and giving birth ARE allowed, but both required fade outs. Fighting is fine, and getting a little descriptive is fine, but kindly try not to go overboard, no one needs every tiny detail about every single wound or attack.
